Investigators tell NBC10 they're looking for a black male last seen wearing an Eagles baseball cap. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds.

They say that the armed man knocked on the door of the home on the 5000 block of Springfield Avenue around 2:45 a.m. asking for a drink. When the victim, a 74-year-old man, told the suspect he was turning in the for the night, the suspect forced his way into the home, police said.

The suspect proceeded to kick and pistol-whip the elderly man before stealing cash.

Authorities say the alleged robber fled the scene on foot with at least $500.
