Members of Delaware's congressional delegation are joining U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez in Wilmington to emphasize the importance of workplace apprenticeships.
Perez was scheduled to join Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons on Monday for a tour of RC Fabricators, a steel manufacturing business, where they will try their hand at welding alongside apprentices.
The tour will be followed by a round-table discussion with local elected officials, community leaders, and program participants on the importance of apprenticeship programs.
Coons and Perez then planned to meet with students enrolled in Zip Code Wilmington, Delaware's first computer coding school.
