Long Beach Township Police announce the arrest of a thief, who they say was caught red-handed during the declared State of Emergency in the township.

Police say Robert McLaughlin, 29, ran away when he was spotted by an officer around 10:30 p.m. on October 28. After being tracked down at 90th and Beach Avenue, police say they found him with a stolen flat screen TV and a frozen pizza.

McLaughlin is facing charges of receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He's being held at Ocean County Jail on $12,000 cash bail.
