Teen Held on $2.5M Bail in Birthday Party Shooting

Nine people were shot and two teens died at April 8 birthday party shooting

A 16-year-old is being held on $2.5 million bail on charges stemming from a shooting that killed two teens and wounded eight other people during a party last week near Philadelphia.

Kanei Daniel Avery was arraigned Monday on charges including aggravated assault and resisting arrest. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports District Judge Spencer Seaton said he set bail high to make a statement following Friday's shootings at a social hall in Chester.

Three people from nearby Claymont, Del., face charges including assault and reckless endangerment.

No one has been charged in the deaths of 18-year-old Robel Laboy and 19-year-old David Johnson. Police tell the Delaware County Daily Times a neighborhood feud may have sparked the shooting.

It was not clear if Avery has an attorney.
