Delaware County authorities are getting serious about getting paid and putting their criminals behind bars. From parking violators to deadbeat dads to violent offenders, it’s time to pay the piper, because Sheriff Joseph McGinn and his team are gearing up to make you famous.

”Delaware County’s Most Wanted,” a show geared toward catching Delco’s fugitives, will air on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m. beginning in April on Comcast channel 190, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

“We are hopeful that by bringing this information directly to our neighbors, we can get these people off our streets and behind bars, where they belong,” Sheriff McGinn told the Daily Times.

McGinn got the idea while attending a sheriff’s conference in Florida. Alabama’s Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department’s “Most Wanted” show has captured over 1700 criminals since its debut six years ago, reports the paper.

In fashion with Calhoun County’s show, each week will feature 18 of the most wanted fugitives from Delco’s list as well as safety tips in a half-hour program.

You’re probably asking yourself what this little project is going to cost taxpayers and the answer is – not a thing. Well, that’s the plan at least. Right now, McGinn’s office is looking for potential advertisers to cover the $1,200 per episode production cost. They’ve even managed to round up a volunteer co-host, Kevin Scholla of KYW Radio to join the Sheriff on-air, according to the Times.

“We want this to be a service to the community,” said McGinn.
