The Money Trail

You can track the stimulus money in PA, so why not Jersey or Delaware?

New Jersey is getting $17 billion from Washington under the economic stimulus program.

The Assembly starts talking Monday about how to spend the money.

But where's your say in all this?

Other states, including Pennsylvania, have set up Web sites so The People can submit ideas on how the money gets spent.

On the PA site, for example, there is a direct link to a page where you can have your say or even make your pitch to have some of the recovery money come your way. Just fill out the form and off it goes into cyberspace, hopefully to be read by an actual person.

You can also get information on where and when public hearings take place for key areas where stimulus money will be spent, it's just a question now of how much.

New Jersey doesn't have its site set up yet. Neither does Delaware. You'd think the Vice President's home state would be ahead of the pack, especially since President Obama dubbed Biden the lead guy for accountability on the stimulus package.

So if you want to have your say before all the money's spoken for in N.J. or Delaware, right now it looks like you'll have to do it the old fashioned way: pick up a phone or fire off an email to your local lawmaker.
