Five women and one man were arrested during a prostitution raid at the Sands casino in Bethlehem over the weekend.

Bethlehem police conducted the first-ever prostitution raid at the casino, charging the women with prostitution and 50-year-old Joseph John Janis, of Whitehall Township, with acting as their pimp, according to The Morning Call.

The undercover operation came after casino and hotel officials complained about prostitutes accommodating guests.

Police arrested Janis on Saturday while he was circling the Sands casino and hotel in his car. He was charged with three felony counts of promoting prostitution.

Mary Bartholomew, 50, Kim Hutchinson, 40, Kim Rexroad, 34, Stacy Hoffman, 47 and Danielle Moser, 24, were all charged with prostitution.
