Possible Mid-Week Nor'Easter

NBC10 Weather Team keeping an eye on coastal storm that could bring more rain & wind to our area

A coastal storm could impact our area by Wednesday bringing rain and possible high winds to our region already hit by Sandy.

The GFS and European models are both agreeing on a coastal storm by mid-week. It just depends how close the storm gets and how strong it is by the time it gets here. Once we have a better idea of that, we’ll know how much rain and wind to expect.

While it will not be anything like Sandy, we will be seeing rain and wind -- with mixed precipitation possible in higher elevations -- from this possible Nor’Easter system.

As of Friday, the system is too far out (about five days away) to tell just how much rain and how much wind. The storm could move right over the area, or it could move just a bit farther offshore (which we want to happen). If it moves farther offshore, we will see less rain and wind than if it were to move over us, but colder temps will also move in.

Either way, carry an umbrella Wednesday, but if winds become too high, maybe just the raincoat!  We will update you as we know more.
