New Castle County Police

Police called off the search for a Delaware man after he told them he was not only alive and well -- he was never missing.

Over the weekend, New Castle County Police sent an alert out to local media, asking for the public's help to locate 34-year-old Brad Butler.

Butler says he was surprised when he started getting calls from friends who said they saw his picture on the news.

Butler called police to explain that he wasn't missing. Butler says a close friend called police because she probably misinterpreted some things he said during a heated argument and became concerned over his whereabouts.

Police confirm that Butler called them to explain the mixup.
