Airport Police Revive Man With Heart Problems

Police at Newark Liberty International Airport are being credited with reviving an elderly man who was suffering from heart problems.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says four of its officers and two supervisors combined to help the 74-year-old Magnolia, Texas man on Thursday.

The man was found on the ground and unresponsive near a baggage carousel in Terminal C Thursday afternoon.

Responding officers began chest compressions on the man and used a defibrillator to shock him five times.

The man then began breathing on his own and was conscious and alert when he was moved to Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
