Phillies Affiliate Getting Largest Videoboard in Minor League Baseball

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are getting what they say will be the largest main high definition videoboard in Minor League Baseball.

The installation of the 43-feet by 73-feet videoboard, beyond the center field wall, be part of a series of high definition videoboard upgrades at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

The main videoboard will be more than triple the square footage of the existing one.

How big is it?

Well, team officials — and remember the team’s moniker — noted it could contain roughly 306 pigs standing next to and on top of each other within its dimensions.

Seven other videoboard enhancements are scheduled for the ballpark this off-season, including the addition of a new 130-feet wide ribbon board above the left field signage, which the team said is among the widest displays in professional sports.
