Authorities say a man has been arrested in the apparent shooting death of the mother of his young son.
State police in Somerset County said police were called to the couple's Windber apartment shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday and found the body of 23-year-old Caressa Kovalcik.
Police said they arrested 25-year-old Denver Blough, who also lived in the apartment along with the couple's 11-month-old son.
Blough was charged with criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated and simple assault and reckless endangering. He is being held without bail.
Court documents indicate that he has requested representation from the public defender's office, which couldn't be reached Sunday; a phone number for him couldn't be found Sunday.
