Woman Struck by 2 Cars, Killed in Bucks County

Two cars struck and killed a woman at a busy Bucks County intersection Tuesday morning -- and one driver left the scene, possibly unaware a person had been hit.

The deadly crash occurred at Knights and Street roads around 6 a.m., according to reports.

The 28-year-old woman, identified as Christine Massie, was walking west on Street Road, crossing the street against a red light, when she was hit by the cars traveling northbound, police said.

The driver of the first striking vehicle stopped, but the driver of the second car did not realize she hit someone and continued traveling, investigators said.

Witnesses got that vehicle's license plate and provided it to police, who tracked down the driver at her New Jersey home, according to officials.

Authorities are questioning both drivers, who are cooperating with police.

No charges have been filed. It is up to the Bucks County District Attorney to decide if charges are warranted.

Police shut down the intersection once they arrived at the scene and said they expect the road to remain closed for several hours.  The road was reopened just after 9 a.m.

Initially authorities reported the accident was a hit-and-run.

Commuters can take Mechanicsville Road to avoid the closure.
