Pa. ‘Idol' Hopeful Pays Teen $13 for Sex: Police

Mentally challenged teen's mom was tipped off when she came home with a new sweater.

Police say a Pennsylvania man paid a mentally challenged woman to have sex with him while he was in New Jersey auditioning for hit TV show “American Idol.”

21-year-old Joshua Heintzelman of Halifax, Pa. is charged with aggravated sexual assault.

Both Heintzelman and the victim were staying at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Clifton when he offered the 19-year-old a whooping $13 in exchange for sex.

The Washington, D.C. woman was in town Tuesday to support a family member who was also auditioning for ‘Idol’ at the Izod Center.

Authorities say the woman’s mother grew suspicious when her daughter, who never has money, bought a new sweater.

The woman’s family says she has the mental capabilities of a third-grader.

Heintzelman is being held on $200K bail, with no option for release upon paying 10 percent.

He is still in jail.
