New 311 System a Success

Philadelphians are taking advantage of the city’s new 311 non-emergency call center.

The system, which was launched on December 31, received over 7,000 calls in just two days, according to Mayor Nutter’s office.

Officials said the service is averaging around 3,500 calls in a 24-hour period.

They say most of the questions have been about public safety and the Streets department.
