Three men remained at large Monday after police say they broke into a Philadelphia rowhouse and shot a woman inside in the early-morning hours Monday.
Police said the trio, who wore ski masks, entered a home on Buckius Street near Frankford Avenue, in Port Richmond, about 3 a.m. and first demanded money from a man sleeping in a back bedroom. When the man told the robbers he had nothing, police told NBC10's Katy Zachry, the men woke up a woman in a front bedroom, held her at gunpoint demanding money from her, and then shot her three times in the arm.
The men then ran off empty-handed, police said. Neighbors told Katy Zachry that the couple moved onto the block, just a few weeks ago, and that more recently, several relatives -- including three small children -- moved in with them. The children, neighbors said, were inside the house at the time of the violent home-invasion.
The woman who was shot was in stable condition at Temple University Hospital Monday afternoon, and police continued to search for the trio of armed suspects and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
