Authorities say a man shot in the parking lot of a northern New Jersey apartment complex has died from his wounds.
But it's not clear what spurred the shooting, which occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at the complex in New Milford.
Authorities did not disclose further details on the shooting, including what type of weapon was used or how many assailants may have been involved. But there were reports that a car was seen fleeing from the scene.
The Record reports that the victim was identified only as a 22-year-old man who did not live at the complex. Authorities did not say why the man was at the site.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
