Man Gunned Down Outside Upper Darby Home

Police say the victim was shot at least seven times while his girlfriend and a four-year-old boy were asleep inside. The man is in critical condition.

Police are searching for the person or persons responsible for gunning down a man as he returned to his home in Upper Darby early Wednesday.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 7500 block of Parkview Road.

Police say the shooter or shooters were waiting for the victim outside his home. When he pulled into the driveway and got out of the car, they approached him and opened fire. He was hit at least seven times, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood tells NBC10.

The victim’s girlfriend and a four-year-old boy were asleep inside the home at the time of the shooting, Chitwood said. 

The man was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is in critical condition.

Police have no suspects at this time.
