Man Sets Woman's Genitals on Fire: Police

A Lancaster County man allegedly poured lighter fuel onto a woman's genital area and lit her on fire during one of several attacks over a several day period.

Forty-six-year-old Donald Hackman Jr., of Lititz, Pa., is charged with arson, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and other offenses.

Police took Hackman into custody after a 43-year-old woman told authorities that the suspect punched her in the face and stomach, beat her with a belt and set her genitals on fire.

Hackman also allegedly yelled at her for crying after setting her afire.

The victim suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her lower stomach, genital area and both inner thighs, according to investigators.

She received initial treatment at the Heart of Lancaster Hospital, before being transferred to the Lehigh Valley Hospital burn unit, according to police.

The Lancaster Intelligencer/New Era reports the victim and her 7-year-old son had been staying with Hackman for about a month before the alleged attacks occurred. He was charged Saturday.

He remained in the Lancaster County Prison Tuesday and faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 23.
