Man Charged for Texting Threats to College

Police have charged a Mount Holly man with sending threatening text messages to employees at a New Jersey college.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's office says 19-year-old Jared P. Eversmeyer was charged Thursday with six counts of making terroristic threats.

Authorities say between April 23 and 28, Eversmeyer allegedly sent text messages to six employees of Burlington County College's aquatic center warning them they had been targeted, should quit their jobs and that the sender had their names and addresses.  The threats lead to a partial closure and search of the school's Pemberton Township campus.

The texts were traced to an IP address at Florida's University of Tampa where Eversmeyer was a student.

It's not clear if he has an attorney. He surrendered Thursday and was released after posting bail.
