A man who allegedly tried to shoot his boss and then kept police at bay for several hours at a central New Jersey home has been charged with attempted murder.
Long Branch police tell the Asbury Park Press that 41-year-old city resident Moises Espinoza-Sanchez also was charged with criminal mischief, obstruction and a weapons offense following Saturday's standoff.
Authorities say Espinoza-Sanchez, a day laborer for a landscaping company, fired a .22-caliber rifle through the driver's side window of his boss' vehicle but didn't hit him. They say the shooting was sparked by a dispute between the two men.
Espinoza-Sanchez ran into a nearby home and stayed there for five hours before surrendering. His bail was set at $854,000 cash and it wasn't known Sunday if he's retained a lawyer.
