A Bucks County man is in custody after investigators say he was arrested for his 9th DUI.
Bucks County District Attorney Robert James told NBC10 Richard Derik Collins, 41, was first arrested for DUI back in 1989. Since then, Collins has been arrested for DUI eight more times with the latest arrest happening on August 31.
During his most recent arrest, investigators say he was stopped by Pennsylvania State Police on northbound Interstate 95 in Bensalem, according to the Philly Burbs. Police say Collins’ blood alcohol level was above .16, two times the legal driving limit. On September 12 he was charged with DUI, driving while uninsured, speeding and other related offenses.
The Philly Burbs reports Collins is also serving his final year of probation stemming from his last DUI conviction in which police say he fled from a car crash back in 2007 that injured three people.
Collins is currently in custody at the Bucks County prison.
