Police are searching for a man who allegedly punched an officer in the face at a train station in Camden.

Investigators say the man approached the Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) officer‘s car at the Ferry Avenue station around 1 p.m. Saturday.

When the officer rolled down the window the man allegedly punched him in the eye and walked away.

A K-9 unit helped to search for the suspect but police were unable to locate him. The search was called off about two hours later.

The officer suffered blurred vision in one eye. He was taken to Cooper Medical Center. Officials say he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police did not release the officer’s name.
