High School Teacher Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen Boy

A New Jersey high school teacher stands accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy for nearly five years.

John Angeline was arrested Monday and charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and criminal sexual contact. Bail has not yet been set for the 40-year-old South Plainfield resident, and it wasn't known if he has retained an attorney.

Middlesex County prosecutors say the boy was 15 when the assaults began in August 2010. They allegedly occurred in South Plainfield on various occasions.

When the victim told relatives about the alleged assaults, they contacted authorities.

Angeline has been an English teacher at South Plainfield High School since September 2008 and has taught in the district since September 2005. Prosecutors have not said if the boy was one of Angeline's students.
