Philadelphia Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a young girl who was on her way to school in the Germantown section of the city.

The girl told police she was waiting at her bus stop Monday morning when a man wearing a mask dragged her into an alley between Stafford and Price Street. The man then allegedly raped her before fleeing the scene. The girl was taken to the hospital and examined by doctors. She was also questioned by police who say she provided a vague description of her alleged attacker. The girl told police her attacker was wearing a black ski mask, blue jeans and a navy blue hoodie.

The girl is a student at Imani Education Circle Charter School on the 5600 block of Greene Street. Officials at the school say they are working with police on the investigation.

A woman, who did not want to be identified, says she watched police collect what appeared to be evidence and take pictures in the alley.

“The kids walk and catch the bus down there,” said the woman. “Somebody had to have seen it because there’s always someone down there.”
