Fumes Evacuate Fox Chase Elementary

The school district says the school is being aired out and then students will be allowed back inside.

A Philadelphia elementary school was evacuated Wednesday morning because of fumes, according to the school district.

District officials say Fox Chase Elementary School at 500 Rhawn Street was evacuated Wednesday morning because of fumes emitted while work was being done on the building's roof.

The children were directed to St. Cecilia School across the street while the building is being aired out.

The school district says students will be allowed back in the school shortly.
