Escaped Prisoner on the Loose

Philadelphia police are searching for a prisoner who escaped custody Thursday night in Center City.

He was handcuffed at the time.

The prisoner got away outside Pennsylvania Hospital in the 800 block of Spruce Street. He was being taken there for evaluation.

Police say the suspect is a black man, about 6’3”, with a sparse beard and mustache.  He has multiple tattoos on his face and arms, including an “H” between his eyebrows.

The suspect was last seen on the 400 block of South Jessup Street, still in handcuffs.

He'd been arrested on a drug charge.
