A young pit-bull is currently recovering after being discovered in a trash bag on a Philadelphia sidewalk last week.
An animal control officer found the dog and took her to the Philadelphia Animal Care & Control Team.
The dog, renamed “Treasure” by officials, suffers from mange, a non-contagious skin disease, and kennel cough. Treasure is currently staying at a rescue organization in Wilkes-Barre.
Justice Rescue, a local animal welfare organization, is offering a reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for abandoning the dog.
