Death in Ultralight Helicopter Crash Ruled Accidental

A corner says a man found dead in his crashed ultralight helicopter not far from a small western Pennsylvania airport died of multiple blunt force injuries.

Authorities in Westmoreland County said 62-year-old David Charletta of Sewickley Township was flying a gyro-copter, a one-seat single-engine helicopter.

He was reported missing Wednesday after failing to return to Rostraver Airport, about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh.

The wreckage was found Thursday morning about 2,000 feet from the end of the runway in a heavily wooded ravine.

The county coroner's office ruled the death accidental after an autopsy. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
