Deadly Crash Ends Pennsylvania Police Chase That Reached 115 MPH

Authorities say a Pennsylvania man led police on a chase at speeds exceeding 115 mph before crashing head on into another vehicle, killing the driver.

Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Kemp, of Confluence, has been charged with vehicular homicide in the Monday night crash that killed 22-year-old Erik Yannitelli, of Farmington.

State police in Uniontown say officers were trying to pull over Kemp for driving with a suspended license when he took off.

They say Kemp drove along Route 40 in Wharton Township, crossing into the opposite lane to avoid police, before smashing into the victim's car.

Yannitelli worked as a chef at the nearby Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Kemp is hospitalized in Morgantown, West Virginia, with unspecified injuries. His passenger also remained hospitalized Tuesday.

Online court records don't list a defense attorney who could comment on Kemp's behalf.
