Police say a driver crashed a car into a house and caused a major power outage in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia early this morning.
Investigators say at about 3 a.m. the driver slammed into a utility pole at 64th and Jefferson Street, snapped it in half, and then hit a house. More than 1,000 customers were left in the dark for several hours. PECO crews say about 200 customers are still without power this morning.
Police are searching for the driver who ran away after the crash.
A passenger inside the car was injured and taken to an area hospital. No one inside the house was injured, according to police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
