Camden's Youth Dog Sledders

Maybe you don't think of camden as the dog sled capital of the world.

But for some kids who live there -- it sure is.

Shannon wrote us:

"For the past four months, [our youth] have been building two dog sleds and plan to learn how to drive them in early March."

The kids' inspiration is an African American named Matthew Henson.

He overcame discrimination, to reach the North Pole on a dog sled in 1909.

It's Your News.

So we let the kids and their mentors tell the story in their own words, from the Camden Seaport and Maritime Museum.

The kids participate in a program called Urban Promise.

They plan to run the sleds with dogs on March 13th in Perkasie, Bucks County.

They promise to take some video, and send it to "Your News."
