Woman Slashes Housekeeper's Neck With Box Cutter Inside Philly Motel: Police

A housekeeper is recovering after she was slashed across her neck with a box cutter by another woman inside a Philadelphia motel, according to police.

The 52-year-old housekeeper told police she was working inside the Liberty Motel on the 3200 block of Germantown Avenue overnight when she began arguing with a 50-year-old woman. During the argument, the 50-year-old allegedly pulled out a silver box cutter and cut the housekeeper across the left side of her neck, causing a large laceration.

The woman then chased the housekeeper inside the motel lobby with the box cutter in her hand before running outside, investigators said.

Police responded to the motel shortly after 3 a.m. The responding officers then spotted the suspect walking northbound on Germantown Avenue and took her into custody without incident, police said. She has not yet been identified.

The housekeeper was taken to Temple University Hospital where she is currently in stable condition.
