Residents in a Montgomery County community are on high alert after two recent armed robberies in their neighborhood.

Police say the first one happened Monday at 8:10 p.m. A teenager was walking on Trent Road in Penn Wynne when police say four men began to follow him. About a block later, investigators say two of the suspects pointed a gun at the teen, took his cell phone and ran away. The suspects are described as four black males in their late teens to early 20’s.

The second robbery happened Thursday night at 8:51. on Edgevale Road. Police say a man was walking in the neighborhood when he was approached by two men from behind who told him to empty his pickets. The man yelled and pulled away and the two suspects fled, according to investigators. The suspects are described as two thin black males in their teens.

β€œI’m surprised,” said Charlotte Neve of Penn Wynne. β€œIt seems like the safest place here. I would never expect that here.”
