Archbishop Chaput says he's ready to address the priest abuse scandal -- and he's ready to help the diocese move forward. (Published Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011)

Archbishop Charles Chaput has been installed as the 13th leader of the Philadelphia archdiocese at a solemn cathedral Mass.

We will carry the Archbishop's Installation Ceremony on our Nonstop Channel, live, starting at 2 p.m. That's channel 248 on Cmcast, 460 on Verizon and 10.2 over-the-air.

The 66-year-old Chaput is known as an outgoing, conservative leader, devoted to evangelism and social justice.

In his homily Thursday, he likened his new post to "an arranged marriage,'' with the pope as matchmaker.

But he said arranged marriages work if people get to know and love each other.

Chaput arrives in Philadelphia as the archdiocese wrestles with a looming criminal trial over the priest-abuse scandal.

He is a Native American from Kansas who recently led the Denver archdiocese.

Chaput says he thought he would work with the poor during his church career, only to have God make him a bishop.
