Police investigating what caused the crash involving two SUVs that left a 9-year-old hurt

A crash left a boy hurt, two SUVs wrecked and plenty of questions in Kensington Wednesday afternoon.

Philadelphia fire and police officials were on the scene at East Girard and East Columbia Avenues after the crash happened around 5 p.m.

A black SUV hit a storefront and a white SUV slammed into a fire hydrant, according to fire officials.

A 9-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital, according to the fire department.

Investigators were trying to figure out what caused that wreck.
