An 8-year-old Allentown boy died after accidently shooting himself in the chest at his home Friday.
Jose Alvarado Jr. found a gun in his family’s home while his father was outside shoveling snow, say authorities.
Lehigh Valley coroner Scott Grim ruled the shooting an accident Monday. The boy’s cause of death was determined a gunshot wound to the chest.
Neighbors told the Express Times that the boy’s mother had a registered gun and a license to carry in their home on the 1100 block of Allen Street.
