Two women are recovering after a car flipped on its side in the Queen Village section of the city.
Meredith Difilippo told NBC10 she saw the car lose control as it reversed out of a parking lot on 5th and Bainbridge streets Saturday night. It flipped over onto its side and came to a rest at a nearby building.
Difilippo says she was nearly struck by the vehicle and had to dive out of the way.
βI just heard some screaming from the people working here,β she said. βIt was literally 90 miles per hour, going reverse. Iβm still shaking. I just turned around and the car just flew. I just literally, like dove.β
The women were briefly trapped inside the vehicle and were rescued by first responders. They were taken to the hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not yet revealed what caused the driver to lose control.
