Two people were shot when several brawls broke out at a central New Jersey house party attended by hundreds of people.

New Brunswick police responded to the home around 11:15 p.m. Friday and found more than 500 people in the area of Robinson Street and Center Avenue. Many of them were being disorderly, and several fights were observed.

As the crowds were being dispersed, a fight involving several people broke out on a nearby street. Gunfire soon erupted within the fighting group, and two people involved in the brawl were wounded.

Authorities say 19-year-old Marceus Dalins of Irvington was shot multiple times in the leg, arm, finger and abdomen, while 20-year-old Bobby Mack of Hillside was shot once time in the hip. Both victims were being treated at a hospital for wounds that were not considered life-threatening, but further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

Both victims refused to cooperate with investigating detectives, and authorities were still working Saturday to determine who fired the shots.

Authorities also arrested another person involved in the brawl, an 18-year-old Somerville man, who they say tried to flee the area on foot. He was charged with possessing marijuana with intent to distribute.

Authorities say the person hosting the party advertised it on Facebook, which led to the large crowds.
