2 Drexel Students Killed, 4 Injured in Crash

Two Drexel University students were killed and four others were seriously injured in a one-car crash in north-central Pennsylvania, school officials said Sunday night.

The six students, ages 18 to 22, were in a car that crashed early Sunday on southbound Route 15 in Lycoming County, Drexel spokesman Noah Cohen said.

No information was released about the 3:30 a.m. crash, which occurred about two miles south of Liberty and approximately 30 miles northwest of Williamsport, Pennsylvania state police said.

John P. Williamson Jr., 21, of Havertown, Ian Alexander, 22, of Royersford were killed in the crash, police said. It was not known whether Williamson and Alexander were wearing seat belts, according to police.

The four students injured in the crash were wearing seat belts,Trooper Travis Doebler said in a report.,

The driver, Andrew F. Cardamone, 19, of Philadelphia, Eric S. Rayburn, 18, of Quakertown, and Kevin A. MacDonald, 18, of Philadelphia, are in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., according to a nursing supervisor.

Adam D. Marsh, 20, of Collegeville, was in serious condition at Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, Pa., a nursing supervisor said.

Drexel's Dean of Students, Dr. David Ruth, said the university community was saddened by news of the crash.

"The Drexel community is coming together and grieving together during this difficult time," he said in a statement.
