Fire officials say one person is dead and another was injured in a house fire in Hartly.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says the fire was reported about 11 a.m. Thursday on Bryant's Corner Road. Officials say firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from the one-story house.
After the blaze was put out, firefighters found a person dead inside the home. A second occupant escaped and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The body was turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Damage was the fire is estimated at $100,000. The cause is under investigation.
