Cory Monteith Remembered by “Glee” Co-Stars on Anniversary of His Death

Several "Glee" cast members, including Lea Michele, posted on social media moving tributes to their beloved co-star Cory Monteith on Sunday, July 13, the 1-year anniversary of his tragic and shocking death.

The Canadian actor, who played Finn Hudson on the FOX musical comedy series, died at age 31 one year ago in Vancouver of a "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol." "Glee" paid tribute to him on the show.

Michele, who plays Rachel Berry and who was his girlfriend in real life, shared on her Instagram pages a photo of the two and also tweeted another pic of the actor.

Other "Glee" stars, including Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schue), Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones), Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) and series co-creator Ryan Murphy, posted messages about the actor on Sunday, as fans shared their own tributes. Chris Colfer, who played Monteith's character's stepbrother, Kurt Hummell, retweeted Michele's post.

All the posts helped spur the hashtags #1YearWithoutCory and #RememberingCory to trend on Twitter.

"365 days since you've gone and not a day passes we don't remember your smiling face," Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) said on her Instagram page, alongside a pic of a "Glee" scene with Monteith. "We miss you buddy. Thanks to everyone for your love and support today while we remember our quarterback."
