Speed Up For Breast Cancer

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is fighting breast cancer one stride at a time, so lace up those sneakers and get going to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J. on Sunday, October 4.

Breast cancer affects a countless number of women everyday and The Susan G. Komen foundation has made it itheir mission to fight the disease, increase awareness and to have “a world without breast cancer."

But how do they do it?

With a 5K run, of course. In fact, Race for the Cure is the largest 5K run in New Jersey.

All you have to do is register for $30 ($15 for kids), give those legs a stretch and you're ready to go. Last year, 15,000 participated in the run and this year should be even bigger -- the event is expected to raise over 1.4 million.

The event starts at 8:15 a.m. and will unite women and men, who've struggled with breast cancer and those who want to support the community. 25 percent of the money raised will go into national projects and 75 percent will be used locally.

So come on and help find a cure to breast cancer.
