When the Sixers take on the New York Knicks this Wednesday, it's Jewish Heritage Night at the Wachovia Center and spectators are in for a real treat.
Grammy-nominated Jewish reggae artist, Matisyahu, will take the court post-game for a special concert just for 76er fans.
Matisyahu, whose songs are inspired by the teachings of Judaism, wants his music to touch people and make them think.
"Music taps into a very deep place and speaks to us in a way that regular words can’t,” says the artist.
And the Sixers organization couldn’t agree more.
"Jewish Heritage Night is an opportunity for the Jewish community to come together and enjoy a night of Sixers basketball, said Sixers Senior Vice President Lara Price. ”In addition, our fans can enjoy a free post-game concert.”
The Sixers will also offer kosher food from the award-winning restaurant Max & David’s in the 11th Street Atrium.
