Watch a Live Concert From the Comfort of Your Home

Want to experience a concert from the comfort of your home? All you need is a bag of Doritos and a computer.

Rock band blink-182 and rapper Big Boi are teaming up with Doritos for a musical experience like no other -- an online concert -- the company announced Monday.

This is part of Doritos promotion of blink-182’s summer tour, which kicks off on July 24 in Las Vegas, according to Brandweek.

To get access to the concert online, music fans need to buy a bag of Doritos Late Night chips (you can find them in supermarkets or convenient stores), which serve as a ticket to the concert. The fans then have to find the special symbol located on the back of the special-edition bags. Once the symbol is accepted, they will be able to view a virtual concert shown in 3-D, said a Brandweek report.

“We’re always looking for innovative new ways to bring music to our fans, and an online 3-D performance was something we just had to be a part of it,” said vocalist and bassist of blink-182, Mark Hoppus. “As big technology guys, we’re pumped that people can now experience a little bit of our summer tour through something as accessible as bag of Doritos and a computer.”

Viewers will be able to personalize each of the performances depending on the way they hold, move and shake the bag, according to PR Newswire.

“From Mp3 to lap tops to mobile phones, young consumers have come to expect the ability to enjoy music anytime, anywhere,” said Group Vice-President Ann Mukherjee to PR Newswire.

“This experience literally explodes out of the bag onto your screen,” said Creative Director of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Hunter Hindman to Wired.com. “It’s almost like holding a hologram in your hand.”

After the virtual show, fans have the opportunity to enter to win free tickets to a live blink-182 concert in the city of their choice,

Aside from Doritos, the late night concert is also being pushed by pollstar.com, wired.com and brandweek magazine
