A man jumped into the Schuylkill River to evade police Saturday night, authorities said.
The man allegedly stole a car and led police on a chase before ditching the car near the Whitemarsh-Philadelphia border and hiding in a storage shed, the Inquirer reported. When officers found him in the shed, he jumped into the water.
Police later learned the man had several outstanding bench warrants.
