Stray Bullet Nearly Hits Sleeping Boy

Chester family in fear after a stray bullet ends up in 4-year-old boy's bedroom

A stray bullet pierced the pillow of a sleeping 4-year-old in Chester Tuesday night leaving his mother rattled.

“My 4-year-old son almost got shot in the head,” Aika Robles told nbc10.

Her 7-week-old son was sleeping in his crib in the same room. Luckily neither boy was injured.

“He woke up, I grabbed him and told him everything was fine,” Robles said. “We were just going to his brother's room.”

Robles says the Crosby Square neighborhood in Chester is plagued by gun violence. Just since Tuesday night, Chester Police tell NBC10 that two more incidents occurred.

Robles and her husband say they’ve heard gunfire almost every other day for the past two months.

“I'm very scared, and I'm very worried about my children,” Robles’ husband Edwin Laureano said.

“This animosity needs to stop… this really needs to stop,” Robles said. “It needs to stop now.”

The family has left their home and moved in with family members until things in the neighborhood calm down.

“This is just too much our children are just not safe.”
