SEPTA Train Strikes, Kills Man

Trains along SEPTA’s West Trenton Line were suspended late Thursday morning after a train struck and killed a man in Northeast Philadelphia.

The Regional Rail train had just left the Forest Hill Station and was headed to the Philmont Station around 11:25 a.m. when it struck the unidentified 37-year-old, according to authorities.

Details about how the man wound up on the tracks weren’t immediately known.

More than two hours later, Philly-bound passengers continued to board from outbound platforms only from Neshaminy Falls Station to Jenkintown Station due to trains traveling on single tracks. SEPTA said to expect delays of 30 minutes or more.
