Since 1998 only three players have been named to the NBA All-Star team as a rookie: Tim Duncan (1998), Yao Ming (2003), and Blake Griffin (2011).
Griffin averaged 22.8 points and 12.6 rebounds, Duncan had 18.2 and 11.5, and Ming racked up 13.0 and 8.1. Embiid enters this All-Star game averaging 19.8 points with 7.8 rebounds. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that these numbers a very similar.
Embiid thinks he should have been in. So does T.J. McConnell.
"I think it's absolute crap that he wasn't voted into the All-Star game," McConnell said.
On Thursday we made a compelling case for Embiid's selection.
