Poor Chase Utley Couldn't Go to Phillies-Dodgers Game, But Reason Was Totally Valid

When Chase Utley announced he would be retiring at the end of the 2018 season, he thought of his two sons Benjamin and Maxwell.

"The thing I'm having the most difficult time with is being a part-time dad," Utley said last July. "That's really the reason why I'm shutting it down because I'm ready to be a full-time dad."

Utley is enjoying exactly that in his life after baseball. However, he was just a tad bummed being away from the ballpark Saturday. "The Man" knew all about the Phillies visiting Dodger Stadium for a National League showdown.

He could not attend.

It was time for KIDZ BOP.

Via Utley's Instagram story:

Poor guy. He looked like a youngster having to do his homework instead of play outside with his friends.

But you can bet Utley is loving being a full-time dad. He's still finding ways to stay around the game, like doing some analysis work.

And this is a pretty awesome way to do it, too.
